Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:5. They asked: Messenger of Allah, should we make use of medical treatment?9. After sexual intercourse, one is considered in a state of major impurity. Cleanliness and purification are one of the great exemptions of Islam. In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful Islam teaches us to value cleanliness, to practice good hygiene habits, and to take care of our appearance as a courtesy to others. There are a number of verses in the Holy Quran that highlight the importance of cleanliness such as:“Truly, Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.” [Al Baqarah 2:222]. Abu Malik Al-Ash`ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “2. Hence ritual prayer (salah) is only valid after one purifies them by taking a ghusl (Islamic bath). It includes clean body and cleanliness in thoughts also. Even when he wasn’t fasting, his eating routine is pretty much similar to what we call intermittent fasting as he would mostly only consume food once a day. Probably one of the first Hadiths they teach us in schools is, “ Cleanliness is half the faith (Emaan).” [Sahih Muslim]. This is now supported and recommended by modern researchers too as not washing or just using toilet paper can lead to spreading of germs like E.coli.Our Prophet (PBUH) greatly encouraged us to keep our diet healthy and organic. Do we realize that we are getting rewarded by Allah (SWT) for it? This ‘half faith’ doesn’t revolve around cleaning your room or keeping your house clean – it is much more than that. While some nations abandoned self-care and cleanliness to attain high spirituality, Islam made it obligatory to clean oneself in preparation for daily prayers. One of the most prominent hadiths mentioned in the book is related to hygiene and health. Therefore it is necessary to follow our Prophet’s sunnah and lead a healthier life.Muhammad (SAW) also encouraged the use of medical treatment and medicines. Besides, it makes the sustenance increase. Inner Purification: Inner purification can be achieved by encouraging the five pillars of Islam. We often litter our own city, without knowing how it may offend the very Hadith mentioned earlier. Before eating, after finishing the meal, before sleeping, after waking up, in short,  after every task, our Prophet (PBUH) recommended his ummah to wash hands, regularly.This clearly indicates that the Prophet (PBUH) focused on washing hands the most.Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) not only advised to keep our body clean but also recommended us to keep our surroundings and environment clean.Mu’adh reported that our Prophet (SAW) notified that;Moreover, he also focused that cleaning the path for others and keeping your roads clean is an act of charity.The Prophet had strongly advised Muslims to wash after urination or defecation, also known as istinja.

The foremost lesson of Islam is cleanliness or purity. Mu`adh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet warned,7. While people generally consider cleanliness or purification a desirable aspect, but Islam insists on it, making hygiene an essential part of faith. Islam is a religion that demands purity and cleanliness in all aspects of life. 1, Book 1, Hadith 240 21. Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:6. Hadith on Cleanliness: Display a dignified, pleasant appearance.
