Plasma melatonin Cmax and AUC increase in a directly proportional, linear manner for oral doses of immediate-release melatonin in the range 3 – 6 mg whereas Tmax and plasma TLimited data suggest that Cmax and AUC following ingestion of immediate-release melatonin may be higher (potentially roughly double) in women compared to men, however a large variability in the pharmacokinetics is observed.
Plasma Tmax is ~ 50 minutes.
