It made an overall positive difference for me--I was in the middle of a really bad depression when I first started taking it--I haven't felt 100% still, but much better than I was. I have and we have played with the medications but when he goes up I seem to be more aggressive. I am on lamictal (for mood stabilization) and zoloft (for depression symptoms). This is what my pschiatrist says anyway and what I've read at info sites on the web.
I'm only on 50 mg of lamictal and 50mg of zoloft.

I was diagnosed with bi polar 2 when I was 23 (I am now 28). For 3 or 4 years now I've been taking both Zoloft and Lamictal, 100mg of each, and after gaining 100 pounds because of the former (I'm serious, 100 pounds), I want to get rid of the Zoloft. I think that is very important as you are not in a good place right now.
It seems like the combo is beginning to work better, but I think your right. 25mg Lamictal is usually a starting dose. About 6 weeks is what I heard to. Now I can gladly say that I have had maybe 1 manic episode since being on my meds. The thing is that if you are actually Bipolar then the zoloft may not be right for you. My symptoms were typically anxiety with constant thoughts that would essentially just snowball (my highs) and deep depression and feelings of utter worthlessness (my lows).
